CHARACTER
Character Name: Eruka Frog
Age: 18-ish
Species: Witch
Canon: Soul Eater
Canon Point: Chapter 72, after she finishes opening a path into the Book of Eibon for DWMA students.
Character Info: On the Soul Eater Wiki
Personality:
As a witch, Eruka lives for only one thing: destruction. All witches are influenced by the Pull of Magic, and nothing gives the witch greater delight than to get the chance to use any one of her destructive magical spells or cause some trouble ... within limits, of course. She's no fanatic for chaos, and even witches have their own sense of order. Mostly, what Eruka values is the preservation of the system that gives her the opportunity to develop her talents, make some mischief, and live a pretty carefree life.

There's an immaturity to the way Eruka acts that isn't present in older witches, at least partly attributable to her comparative weakness and youth. Eruka often fails to plan for the long term, acting impulsively and often rashly. She enjoys getting chances to show off and looking down on those she considers inferior to her, but she's easily cowed and frightened by shows of power or strength -- and she's often gotten herself into trouble by misjudging exactly who she's up against. Eruka's recent history has left her painfully aware of how easily she's outmatched.

Otherwise, Eruka is much like any other teenage girl: she laughs, she flirts, and she makes snide jokes at others' expense, and the playfulness she usually reserves for when she's blowing something up gets expressed in slightly less lethal form. She's even a bit of a romantic, musing on wanting to find a nice boyfriend once she's free from being forced into service. Around those who she feels relatively secure around, Eruka can even be docile, clingy, and even caring, forming a dependency that seems characteristic of witches -- perhaps an innate need to seek protection.

As childish and neurotic as she can be, Eruka's far from lacking actual intelligence. Eruka is a clever and competent spellcrafter in her own right, capable of performing complex magical calculations and spells. She is confident enough in her skills that she has no qualms ordering junior witches to support her while she takes the lead. She's also observant enough to put together the pieces about Medusa's plan to create more Kishin, demon gods formed from a corrupted soul that can inflict madness on those around them.

When push comes to shove, Eruka thinks keeping her dignity is less of a priority than keeping herself alive. She's capable of lying even to friends if it's a choice between that and preserving her life, even if she feels bad about it. Cowardly though it may be, the witch has no pretensions of heroism, and Eruka has no shame begging for her life (and has, on multiple occasions). There's little doubt that her will to live is strong enough to rival a cockroach's: as long as she can see any way to survive, Eruka will take it.

Abilities: Eruka is a witch. In Soul Eater canon, this is a quality that one is born with; in addition to having an unique soul, access to magical powers, and a long lifespan, one thing they hold in common is that they are all subject to a force called the 'Pull of Magic.' This is an irresistible instinct to cause destruction wherever they go. While other witches express the desire to cause destruction in less literal means (manipulating people to madness, or destroying relationships, for example) Eruka is not one of these. She rejoices in straight-up physical destruction of any sort, and the majority of her abilities (accordingly) allow her to perform it.

Tadpole Bombs: Her main attack. Eruka summons tiny tadpole-shaped bombs which can be timed, or can explode on impact when thrown. Explosion strength varies according to the number of bombs and their size; thus far, the largest she's summoned can still be balanced on one hand.
Magic Lifeform: Eruka can summon a magical construct that takes the form of a giant tadpole called Tadpole Jackson. It's capable of flying, handling/throwing/hitting things with its tail, and usually sees the most use as Eruka's method of transportation. It seems to have a rudimentary (often cowardly) personality, and is devoted to its owner.
Soul Protect: Eruka can generate a barrier that conceals the nature of her soul, allowing her to be perceived as an ordinary human by those sensitive to soul wavelengths. With multiple users or boosted power, it is an ability that can be used to protect people exposed to the souls of demon gods from falling under the influence of their madness.
Transformation: She can turn into a small, bright green frog. She can still speak in this form, and can manipulate small objects. She can't perform any other spells during this time.
Magic Calculation: This ability has a number of purposes, but it's been used to allow complicated spells to be more accurately cast, connect two points in space, stabilize a spell already in progress, and allow multiple magic users to lend their magic power to a central spellcaster. Primarily, the calculation can support and enhance other spellwork.

CARNIVAL
Soul Colour: Neon Cyan (#00FFFF)
Ideal Jobs: Cashier/Thief
Relevant Experience: Eruka is pretty good at math, being that besides her frog-themed attacks, her main magical specialty involves calculations.

In canon, she's gone on a number of stealth missions to blow things up in her frog form, has infiltrated more than one guarded stronghold in disguise, and scoped out points of entry for other groups. She once snuck into the highest security prison of the Witch Order to break out a dangerous prisoner, and she successfully used magical calculations to open a path into an enchanted book. Despite her tendency to whine, she's actually pretty attentive to detail and will perform both mundane and dangerous tasks meticulously and to the best of her ability if the order is given from someone she's sufficiently afraid of or its in her own best interests.

Carnival History:
Eruka was an involuntary hire, coming into the Carnival during its stint in the King's Court and from an earlier point in her timeline -- specifically, prior to confronting Medusa about her efforts to revive demon gods and sow chaos in the world. Annoyed to be sidetracked from what she saw as her main goal at the time, she 'accidentally' blew up a game stall with a tadpole bomb, landing her with an unwanted contract.

Her Carnival history was largely uneventful for the first six months or so, having spent most of that time bemoaning being stuck in the Carnival and mourning her loss of freedom. She was too afraid of the Ringmaster's power to step too much out of line, and though she chafed at her job (a cashier! Her! Really?) and fumed at her circumstances, she also couldn't really figure out a way to extract herself from the Ringmaster's service, so she miserably plodded on.

Things reached a turning point during the Carnival's stop in That 60s Show, of all things, largely because she accidentally got on some drugs and ending up going on a crazy bender with some of the others in the Carnival at the time. That's how Eruka remembered there was more to life than sniveling and feeling sorry for yourself that you were involuntarily contracted for a year! She might as well take this opportunity to have fun any way she could!

With that in mind, she found herself more invigorated to contribute to the Carnival, even going as far as to offer her abilities in service to the then-Acquisitioner and taking some part-time work as a thief between stops. She loved the challenge of it, and the thrill of danger (and the ability to commit some wanton properly destruction) perked her right back up. In fact, she even started to enjoy it a little -- how many witches could claim to have caused destruction on multiple worlds? After a while, she didn't even mind her changes, like the rabbit ears from being turned int oa

Still, she couldn't stay forever. Eruka returned home when her contract ended, after the Carnival's stop at the Omnipresent Super Being. She troubled by its warning... which, for her at least, turned out to be pretty prescient, since she headed right back into a series of being forced to work for other people out of fear for her life.

Existing Contract (#1): 1 year of service for blowing up a game stall.
Details: Self-explanatory.

Existing Contract (#2): 1 year of service for gaining more magical power/knowledge beyond her basic capabilities. Specifically, she wants to take up an area of study along the lines of the Spatial Magic used in her canon, which includes abilities like teleportation (either of herself or sending others to a predetermined destination), conjuring a barrier capable of temporarily cutting off a space from the world up to one hour, and projecting illusions of the user from large distances.
Details: Eruka's recent history has left her painfully aware of how easily she's outmatched. Forced to serve as the witch Medusa's unwilling lackey (twice-over), she's humiliated a third time when the Meister Black Star captures her and forces her to aid DWMA, the witches' natural enemy. She wants to ensure this doesn't happen a fourth time, ribbit!

Current Changes: Teal-furred rabbit ears (common, from being involuntarily transfigured into a rabbit during Wizards), bioluminescent teal 'freckles' (common, from a forced makeover on Fashion Planet), a shadow shaped like a nearly human-sized frog (uncommon, some weird lingering Nether World effect?), the ability to turn herself partially or completely into translucent teal jelly (rare, from being hit by a mad supervillain's slime ray during superhero world). She had other changes, but these are the ones that haven't faded during her time back home.

SAMPLES

Sample #1: TDM Thread

Sample # 2:

Stakeout duty has never Eruka's favorite thing, but even she has to admit: she's had more than enough experience with it by now. Few people would notice a frog quietly tucked in some shadows under a bridge, even one with a radio strapped on its back. She waits until the rumble of people passing overhead faded, then darted to the next patch of shadows.

If frogs could sweat, she absolutely would be, but so far, so good. A few more agonizing start-stops, and she finally makes it to her destination, shuddering all over, before she shook it off. She still had a job to do, and the Carnival wouldn't appreciate any more dallying.

Releasing the harness strapped to her, she wriggled out from under the radio, propping it against a rock to keep it steady while she pressed the button down.

"This is Eruka," she whispered, trying and failing to keep the tremble out of her voice. "I'm in position. Ready when you are."
